Back in Action!

Been an absolutely crazy year, after the birth of my son (May 2010, notice a pattern there? ;) ) my free time was completely compromised.  Things have settled down now however, and Reznik is back on his crusade.

What's next for The Wrack?
The FLGS is running a Domination Release Event (http://privateerpress.com/files/Domination_Release_Event_Documents_0.pdf) on Sunday, December 4th, and The Wrack will be there Reznik and all; the EO has confirmed that Warmachine armies are welcome, and will get full points as appropriate (Wrath Warcaster instead of Domination Warlock, etc.).  When I last played Warmahordes I was sitting on 35 points that I was pretty happy with:

High Executioner Servath Reznik (*6pts)
* Crusader (6pts)
* Guardian (9pts)
* Vanquisher (8pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Exemplar Bastions (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8pts)
Exemplar Errants (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Vassal of Menoth (2pts)
Wracks (1pt)

Total: 35pts

I needed to grow 15 points to enter into the tournament, so the new list will be:

High Executioner Servath Reznik (*6pts)
* Crusader (6pts)
* Guardian (9pts)
* Vanquisher (8pts)
Vessel of Judgement (9pts)
Choir of Menoth (Leader and 3 Grunts) (2pts)
Daughters of the Flame (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
Exemplar Bastions (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8pts)
Exemplar Errants (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
The Wrack (3 wracks) (1pts)
Vassal Mechanik (1pts)
Vassal of Menoth (2pts)

Total: 50pts

So why did I make the additions I did?  Well to start with, the Vessel of Judgement is just such a great looking model that I knew I wanted to include it, and if I was spending 9 points on it, I was definitely going to put the Mechanik in for 1 point to keep it going.  That left me with 5 points to spend to get to 50.

I had a couple options for 5 points, I could have maxed the Errants and added a UA, and while I think that would have been the best idea for Reznik and Reznik alone, I am planning on achieving the points for fielding 5 separate Warcasters (pKreoss, Rez, HR, eFeora, Thyra), and wanted a bit more options depending on tactics of the Warcaster.  I knew I wanted to invest the 5 points in units because of my caster selection, so it really came down to Daughters or Cleansers.

The Cleansers seemed like a solid defensive option, because I use the Bastions to screen Reznik, the Errants tend to be a bit of a "spiked speedbump", so the Cleaners seemed like that had a place right there in the middle, toasting whatever dropped those Errants, all in all a pretty safe choice.

The Daughters on the other hand bring a couple things to the list that I don't have.  Namely Acrobatics and Anatomical Precision.  They also provide a third, separate unit (and a second AD) to the list.  This means I can AD on both flanks if I need to, or AD one unit straight and one on the Flanks.  While they don't have any specific synergy with Reznik, I think they bring more to the list than the Cleansers would have.
